Why Chandler homeowners switch to turf

Keeping natural grass green through a Chandler summer takes a lot of water and weekly work, and bermuda still goes brown and dormant in winter unless it's overseeded. Artificial turf gives you a green, usable lawn all year without mowing, watering or overseeding. For families with kids and dogs, it's often the change that makes the backyard usable every day.

We install turf across Chandler, from Ocotillo and Fulton Ranch to Sun Groves and Andersen Springs. Most projects pair turf with the rest of the yard: a travertine or paver patio, planting beds on drip irrigation, and borders that keep everything crisp.

The base is what makes turf last

Turf problems almost always start underneath. We remove the existing grass and roots, grade the area so water moves away from the house, then install and compact a crushed aggregate base. That base keeps the surface flat, lets rain and pet urine drain through instead of pooling, and prevents the lumps and ripples you see on rushed installs.

Seams are cut and joined so they disappear, and edges are secured against pavers, curbing or planting borders. We finish with an infill suited to how the lawn will be used, including infills designed to help control pet odor on dog runs.

Turf for dogs, kids and putting greens

Not all turf is the same. Pet areas need a backing that drains quickly and a blade that rinses clean. Play areas benefit from a softer, denser product, and padding can go under play equipment. Putting greens use a shorter, tighter surface that rolls true. We'll show you samples and match the product to how each part of the yard gets used.

Turf does get hot in direct summer sun, so we plan shade over the areas that see the most afternoon use, use lighter travertine and paver borders, and place turf where it makes sense rather than wall to wall.

Water rebates and HOA rules in Chandler

If you're replacing a lawn, check the City of Chandler's current water-conservation programs before the grass comes out. Rebate programs in the Valley typically require approval before work begins, and their rules on artificial turf vary, so it pays to confirm first.

If you're in an HOA, plan on submitting front-yard turf for review. Many associations look at color, blade style and edging. We provide samples and product specifications for your submittal.

“I will start by saying I was not asked to leave a review and did not know of this company before hiring them for our pool remodel. We could not have had a better experience with Az Pool Concepts. Our pool looks amazing and the whole process was so easy and seamless. “I hired Shawn and AZ Pool Concepts to demo and remove a permanent grill and fire pit to create more space, replace travertine that had been eroded by my salt pool with pearlescent limestone. Shawn and his team did an excellent job. FAQ

Artificial Turf in Chandler: Common Questions

How long does artificial turf last in Chandler?
Quality turf installed over a proper base lasts many years in Arizona sun. UV-stabilized products hold their color, and a well-built base keeps the surface flat and draining. Lifespan depends on the product and how heavily the area is used.
Does artificial turf get hot in the summer?
Yes. In direct summer sun, turf runs hotter than natural grass. We plan shade over the areas you use most in the afternoon, use lighter borders, and suggest a quick rinse before play on the hottest days.
Is artificial turf good for dogs?
It works well for dogs when it's built for them: a backing that drains quickly, a compacted base that lets liquid pass through, and an infill designed to help control odor. Regular rinsing keeps a pet area fresh.
Can I get a rebate for replacing grass with turf in Chandler?
Check the City of Chandler's current water-conservation programs before you remove any grass. Rebate programs usually require approval before work starts, and their rules on artificial turf vary from program to program.
Do I need HOA approval for artificial turf in Chandler?
If you're in an HOA, plan on submitting front-yard turf for review; many associations look at color, blade style and edging. We provide samples and product specifications for your submittal.
