Pavers & Hardscaping
Driveways in Phoenix, AZ
A paver driveway is the single most visible hardscape on a property, and it's also the most structurally demanding. Vehicle loads require deeper excavation, a thicker compacted base, and a heavier paver than a patio does. Built to that spec, a paver driveway outlasts poured concrete comfortably — and it never develops the cracks a slab inevitably does in our soil.
The repairability advantage matters most here. If a section stains from an oil leak, settles slightly, or needs to be opened for a utility, individual pavers lift out and go back in. A concrete driveway in the same situation means a saw-cut patch that never matches. Over a driveway's life that difference shows.
We plan drainage carefully, because a driveway is a large impermeable-ish surface pointed at your garage. Correct slope, and channel drains where the grade requires them, keep monsoon runoff moving away from the house. Borders, banding, and an apron detail at the street tie the driveway to the front walk and entry so the whole approach reads as one design.
